Mission & Vision
Located high atop a mesa in a mountain setting near Morgantown, West Virginia, Pikewood National Golf Club is a breathtakingly scenic and wonderfully challenging core golf course. Pikewood National is designed in the classic tradition of preeminent “golden age” golf course architects. Moreover, Pikewood National is a golf course built by players, specifically for players, embodying everything that is good and pure about the game.
Pikewood National is challenging yet at the same time serene and beautiful and is unmarred by either commercial or residential development. Simply put, Pikewood National is an undisturbed walk through nature. As part of our mission to preserve the time-honored traditions of the game, Pikewood National is a walking only course that can be undertaken either by taking a caddy or, for the more adventurous, by carrying one’s bag. The walk at Pikewood includes dramatic views, nature trails through majestic forests and spectacular rock outcroppings framing the greens, the tees, and lining the fairways.
Designed to fit the lay of the land, Pikewood National has a natural look—a look that is indistinguishable from nature. In fact, every golfer who plays Pikewood will be subconsciously affected by its natural beauty, and over time, will appreciate the course much the same way that one appreciates a good painting, good music, or other artistic creation.
Pikewood National is a member’s course in the truest sense of the word, meant to be played solely by our members and guests. The only tournaments played at Pikewood National are member tournaments. In addition to the beauty and challenge of the golf course, Pikewood National features The Tee at Pikewood National, one of the finest practice facilities found anywhere and a picturesque clubhouse equipped with all the finest amenities.
Pikewood National has been recognized by Golf Digest as the Best New Private Course in America, America’s 100 Greatest Courses, and the World’s 100 Greatest Courses. I would like to invite you to explore membership in our great Club and become part of something extraordinary.
